Why Solitude?
Spending time alone is important for our well-being.
Research shows that solitude benefits us in multiple ways, from mood regulation to stress reduction. Being alone gives us the freedom to be our authentic selves, the time to do things we enjoy, and the space to get perspective on life and connect with ourselves more deeply. Yet sometimes we find solitude lonely and boring rather than positive and rewarding.
Embracing Solitude is a program designed to help you develop the skills necessary to make your time alone meaningful and worthwhile.
Drawing from the latest research on psychological adjustment, mindfulness, and emotional health, Embracing Solitude explains not only why solitude can be beneficial, but also teaches you how to be alone.

The Path
Embracing Solitude is structured as a weekly program aimed at increasing your ability to navigate the path of solitude.
You have the choice to undertake a self-guided journey or meet weekly with a group of like-minded others.
Each week we introduce you to a new skill that helps you approach solitude in a constructive way. In addition, we provide you with a set of practices and reflections that you can try during the week as a way to apply what you’ve learned. Completing each week provides you with new skills that result in another milestone on your path of cultivating your capacity for solitude.
